INJURY NEWS: “Just having Jodi and Marvin on the training pitch gives everyone a lift.” - Coventry City’s Tony Mowbray

Some of the Sky Blues squad are nearing a return to fitness, while the manager gives an update on the status of Andy Rose's injury...

The City boss has been given a lift ahead of the Northampton fixture tomorrow with the return to fitness of forward pairing Jodi Jones and Marvin Sordell.

Both have been nursing short-term injuries over the past few weeks, but returned to full training today and Mowbray has suggested that both will be available for selection in tomorrow’s League One clash.

He said: “I think we have improved on the injury front, Jodi and Marvin both trained with us today. We’ll decide overnight whether we think that is enough for them to put their boots on and play tomorrow.

“Just having Jodi and Marvin on the training pitch gives everyone a lift. Having a few players who haven’t been out there for a few weeks back on the grass gives everyone a boost.”

The City manager also gave an update on the injury to midfielder Andy Rose, after he was forced off early against Bury: “It’ll be a good few weeks, maybe a month or so. But Andy Rose is young, strong and athletic but let’s wait and see.

“He is desperate to get playing again, he’s out there watching every training session and comes to every game. He just wants to do well for the club.”
