Both the Shy Blues and Shrewsbury picked up their first points of the new League One season at the weekend, but couldn’t break the deadlock.
Coventry dominated the first half, with Kyel Reid, Jordan Willis and Ruben Lameiras and testing the Shrews goalkeeper.
Andy Rose headed a good opportunity the wrong side of the post, while Shrewsbury’s Louis Dodds shot over in the 51st minute before having an effort deflected wide 60 seconds later.
The Sky Blues were forced to play a chunk of the game with 10 men after substitute striker Kwame Thomas was stretchered off on 81 minutes.
