The Sky Blues forward has impressed for the Under-21s and could work his way into Tony Mowbray's thoughts...
Coventry City striker George Thomas has admitted he needs to make sure he is ready in a recent interview with the Coventry Observer.
The 19-year old forward has been in impressive form for the Under-21s, scoring in the 4-0 win over Bristol City and the 2-0 win over Watford.
Thomas, speaking to Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, says he is always speaking to Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray and appreciates his interest in youth.
Thomas said: “The manager always talks to us. We spoke at the beginning of the season and we spoke again recently.
“The three or four years we’ve been here full-time we’ve had two good managers who have taken an interest in the youth and watched our under-21 games.
“It is helping because we know that we’re close to the first team, especially when we’re there training with them everyday.
“I’m on the fringe, it could be the under-21s, it could be the first team, it depends on numbers. He said that if he had to throw me in there he trusts me to deal with that so whenever I get the chance I just need to make sure I’m ready.”
