HEAD TO HEAD: Gillingham v Coventry City - Sky Blues on top in all time head-to-head record against the Gills

City lead the way in the 104-year history of the fixture...

Coventry City will be looking for victory at the Priestfield Stadium, as they take on Gillingham in Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture.

The Sky Blues have encountered the Gills 54 times in total, with the first match being played back in November 1912. The match in the Southern League First Division ended in 2-1 defeat for City. However, the Sky Blues have gone onto to win 26 matches against Gillingham, drawing 10 and losing 18.

Matches between City and the Gills are - more often then not - full of goals with there only being two 0-0 score lines in the 104-year history of the fixture. City have come away from the fixture with a 6-4 victory in February 1932 and a 7-1 win in August 1933, both whilst competing in Division Three South.

The most recent goal-fest between the two teams took place in November last year. The Sky Blues emerged 4-1 victors over the Gills thanks to a phenomenal first-half performance. Jacob Murphy scored a 10-minute hat-trick, and then-debutant Ben Turner also chipped in with a goal. Bradley Dack pulled one back for the Gills in the second-half.

In the past five meetings, City have had a fairly balanced run of results against Gillingham, winning three out of five.
