Ahead of the Lions visit to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, City sit one win behind Millwall in the all time head-to-head record...
Coventry City face Millwall in one of three remaining Sky Bet League One fixtures to be held at the Ricoh Arena this season.
The two sides have met 70 times in the 108-year history of the fixture, with the first meeting between the sides in 1908. Millwall emerged victors in that match, winning 3-0. However, since then, the results in this fixture are fairly balanced with the Sky Blues winning 28 of the 70 matches to Millwall’s 29, while there have been 13 draws.
One of the most significant Sky Blue victories in recent years was the 2-1 fourth round FA Cup victory at the Ricoh in 2008. City ran out 2-1 winners in that game thanks to goals from Stephen Hughes and Michael Misfud. Jay Simpson got on the scoresheet for Millwall. This victory saw City progress to the fifth round of the cup for the first time since the 1999/2000 season.
The most recent meetings between the sides ended in an emphatic 4-0 victory for City, on day two of this year's League One season. Adam Armstrong grabbed a first-half brace while Ruben Lameiras also got on the scoresheet in the opening 45 minutes. Jim O’Brien added another late in the second half to secure a 4-0 victory on Millwall's turf.
Last five fixtures: LWLLW
Tony Mowbray’s men will be aiming for victory on Saturday, which will see them equal the Lions in the all time head-to head record.
