The Sky Blues claim their second win of the season as they put five past the Robins at the Alan Higgs Centre...

Coventry City Under-18s claimed a convincing 5-2 win over Bristol City at the Alan Higgs Centre.

The Sky Blues dominated much of the contest and ruthlessly punished the away side's mistakes as City claimed their second win of the season.

Tom Bayliss put the Sky Blues ahead after 18 minutes before two quick-fire goals from Dan Smith and Kyle Finn put City 3-0 up at half-time.

Bristol City pulled a goal back ten minutes into the second-half before Chris Camwell restored the three-goal lead from the penalty spot with half-an-hour remaining.

Dagry Mantsounga scored the fifth goal for the Sky Blues in the 73rd minute, three minutes before the final goal of the game, a consolation for the Robins.

Coventry City Under-18s Jason Farndon said: "It's a great result for us and we played really well.

"In fairness, they dominated possession in the opening stages and caused us problems so we had to change it around.

"We changed formation and the players responded really well to that. It was quite an open game and there could have been even more goals really.

"The result has been coming as the players have done really well but maybe not got quite what they deserve. It's a definite confidence booster ahead of the Watford game next week."
