CONNECTIONS: Coventry City vs Chesterfield - We look at three Spireites loanees who also played for the Sky Blues

We look at three Chesterfield loanees who have also played for the Sky Blues...

Ahead of our clash with Chesterfield at the weekend, we're taking a look back at some of the players who have played for both Coventry City and the Spireites!

Three of our players from the past three seasons have played for Chesterfield, with all three having varying levels of success during their loan spells...

Franck Moussa

During his time with Leicester City, Moussa was loaned to Chesterfield and was a key component in them staying in League One in 2011/12 season.

The Belgian played 11 times for the Spireites and supporters still hold in high regard, as his four goals and performances were key to them staying up that year. His form with Chesterfield saw him eventually move to the Sky Blues after he was released from Leicester in the summer of that survival season.

Joe Murphy

A real favourite of Sky Blues fans, Murphy moved to Huddersfield in 2014 and has made only six league appearances.

As a result of his lack of football, he was loaned to Chesterfield as an emergency and played in their play-off semi-final away to Preston.

Unfortunately, it was a forgettable game for Joe, as he was lobbed from the half-way line and gave away a penalty. He is still with Huddersfield for this season.

Gary Madine

After a loan spell with City in 2009, Madine was loaned to Chesterfield in 2010. He made four appearances for the Spireites and didn't really catch the eye. He played four times without scoring then returned to Carlisle.

Madine is now with Bolton Wanderers after a loan spell with City last year, where he scored three times.
