"We're heading in the right direction and it's an exciting team to be a part of." Coventry City's Jacob Murphy

The Norwich City loanee is enjoying his time with City and feels he can only get better...

Coventry City midfielder Jacob Murphy is enjoying his loan spell with the Sky Blues.

Murphy joined from Premier League side Norwich City on a season long loan deal back in August.

The 20-year old has made 14 appearances in the early phase of his time with the Sky Blues, including a wonder goal against Walsall from 25-yards.

Murphy is happy to be with City until the end of the season and believes he will continue to improve and develop under the tutelage of Tony Mowbray.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far," Murphy said.

"I'm really happy to be here and it's been a great experience so far. The lads have welcomed me quickly and that has helped. I'm learning all the time, I'm improving technically under Tony Mowbray and that's exactly what I'm here for - to help the club and progress.

"I think the manager has taught me to improve the defensive side of my game so I can be an all-round better player.

"It's a well run club here, we're heading in the right direction and it's an exciting team to be a part of."

Murphy's only goal so far of his City spell was the incredible strike against Walsall in the 2-1 defeat back in August.

But the winger isn't fazed by scoring goals, and is pleased to be providing them to his team-mates.

He continued: "I scored early on and the fans probably expect me to score every week after that.

"I'm sure once I get another goal I'll go on a little run, I'm confident about it.

"I'm happy to provide goals for my team-mates though, my job is to put it on a plate for them and hopefully I can continue to do that."
