Statement: Coventry City announce Chris Anderson joins club as Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director

Coventry City Football Club are pleased to announce that Chris Anderson is joining the club as Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director to lead and direct the club’s commercial and football strategy. 

A former semi-professional footballer in his native Germany, Mr Anderson has worked as a financial accountant, leading academic, and professional adviser to the football industry. 

Chris has previously worked with a number of professional clubs and will be responsible for the commercial and football operations of the club on behalf of the Board and Ownership and will serve as a Board Member of the club. Mr Anderson’s appointment is effective ‎immediately.

The Board and Ownership continue with their ambitious plans to build a financially stable and sustainable football club that can be competitive at the highest level.

Proud of its historical and strong legacy as a community pillar, it will continue to develop its engagement with the local community, supporters, and businesses in the Coventry and Warwickshire community and beyond. The club believes Mr Anderson has the vision and the leadership qualities to help us achieve these plans.

Manager Tony Mowbray said: “I welcome Chris to the football club. In our conversations, I have seen the know-how he brings to the club and how supportive he is of our plans to progress it as far as we possibly can, and I’m sure his support will be invaluable to achieve our aims.”

Technical Director Mark Venus added: “Chris and I have had a number of very productive meetings already. 

"I look forward to working with him closely as we develop the first team and Academy operations and build a legacy of football excellence in Coventry.”

Chairman Tim Fisher said: “On behalf of the management team and Board, I welcome Chris to the club and look forward to working together.”
