Historian Jim Brown confirms that this is the club's best start to a season since 1963/64...
Coventry City have achieved their best start to a season in 52 years, according to club historian Jim Brown.
City’s 3-1 win over Colchester on Saturday was their tenth victory in the opening 17 league matches, equaling the record of the 1963/64 season.
City had lost three times in their opening 17 games that season in which they went on to win the Division Three title.
The Sky Blues have started in exactly the same vein, with only three league defeats so far this season.
The club’s best record was in 1937/38, where the Sky Blues lost only one of the first 17 games, but only accumulated 32 points as it was two points for a win.
