The City left-back knows he has to be patient to get his chance as the form of Chris Stokes continues to impress...
Coventry City defender Ryan Haynes has praised left-back Chris Stokes for keeping him out of the team.
Haynes has seen his first-team opportunities restricted so far this season due to the form of Stokes, despite impressive performances in the Under-21s.
The City left-back has already made 38 appearances for Coventry City, including four this season, where he came on for the second-half in the 2-1 defeat to Northampton Town.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph after the Under-21s' defeat against Leeds United yesterday, Haynes has praised Stokes and said he will continue to push him on the training pitch.
Haynes said: “Chris has been doing really well and I know have to keep putting in the hard work and bide my time.
“I have spoken to the gaffer and says I need to work on my game defensively, so that’s what I have got to do to get back in the team and deal with the physicality.
“I have to be patient and then when I get my chance I have to take it.”
