"It was a game we should have won, we need to put things right on Saturday." Coventry City's Jacob Murphy

The Sky Blues midfielder wants to see a reaction on Saturday after a disappointing defeat...

Coventry City midfielder Jacob Murphy admitted that the dressing room is devastated after their 2-1 cup defeat to Northampton.

Murphy netted a marvellous strike in the first-half to draw City level but it wasn't enough as the Cobblers sat behind the ball in the second-half.

The 20-year old midfielder believes City should have won the game and wants to see an improvement against Colchester next week.

"It was a game we should have won," Murphy said.

"Our tails were up after our goal, they got the goal soon after and it was an uphill task against them defending for the rest of the game.

"We had a few opportunities and we just couldn't take one of them, they defended for 45 minutes and credit to them.

"On the day we had a lot more of the ball and it's a game we should be winning as I said before.

"We've got a lot of quality in the squad and there's no excuses. We've lost at the Ricoh but we want to put things right on Saturday, we're eager to get three points next weekend."
