HEAD-TO-HEAD: Coventry City vs Northampton- The Sky Blues have won one out of the last five against Northampton

7 November 2015

The Sky Blues last played Northampton in 1990...

Coventry City head into the game against Northampton having won one out of the last five during the teams most recent meetings in the early 1990s and the late 60s.

The last time City faced the Cobblers was in 1990 in the FA Cup, when Town were 1-0 winners.

The Sky Blues' last win against them came 48 years ago during a Division Two fixture, back in March 1967. City were 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Bobby Gould and Ernie Machin.

The overall head-to-head standings also favour the Cobblers, as City have won 18 games during the 82-year history of the fixture, compared to Northampton’s 24.

There are have also been 15 draws in the fixture’s history but hopefully when the sides go head-to-head at the Ricoh on Saturday, City will have one more win over the Cobblers in this fixture.
