The Sky Blues midfielder wants penalty duty next season after City missed four last season...

Coventry City midfielder James Maddison told the Coventry Telegraph that he is eager to be on penalty duties next season.

The Sky Blues missed four penalties in the 2014/15 season with Reda Johnson, Marcus Tudgay, Gary Madine and Nick Proschwitz all failing to score from the spot.

But Maddison, who has an unblemished record on penalty duty for the Under-18s and Under-21s, is confident enough to take the ball and wants the responsibility next campaign.

"It hasn’t been the greatest season for penalties," Maddison said.

"I’m confident from the spot and through the Under-18s and 21s I haven’t missed one, scored nine out of nine, so if I am here next season –which I will be – I’ll hopefully get myself on them and stick them in the back of the net.

"I don’t get nervous. Put me on them because I know I am good enough to do the job and score a goal."
