The Wales Under-19 international agrees to sign his first professional deal with the Sky Blues...
Coventry City defender Cian Harries has agreed terms to sign his first professional contract with the club, penning a three-year deal starting on July 1st.
The 18-year old captained the Under-18s side last season and also played for the Welsh Under-19s side.
Harries, who has been at the club since the age of 14, travelled with the first-team at the back end of last season as cover at centre-back and was a permanent fixture in the Under-21s side throughout the 2014/15 campaign.
Academy manager Richard Stevens said: “Cian is an excellent footballer and we’re delighted he has signed his deal.
“Cian has attracted interest from the manager for the first-team, so that just shows how well he has done in the season just gone. We look forward to continuing his progress and hope he can push into the first-team picture.”
Sky Blues Under-18s coach Jason Farndon added: “Cian has had a really good year.
“We all know he’s a ball player and provides the team a great foundation to start from the back, but he’s still growing physically and I think that’s a side to his game that will develop over time.
“He’s an excellent talent and a hard worker, so hopefully that will stand him in good stead to be in and around the first-team this coming season.”
