He also claimed Goal of the Season with a whooping 73% of the vote for his goal against Walsall as Frank Nouble's goal against Plymouth claimed second and Aaron Phillips' strike against Exeter City was voted third.

O'Brien has had a successful first season with the Sky Blues having made 48 appearances for City this season, scoring six goals.

The 27-year old said: "I'm absolutely delighted to win the award and it's always nice to get recognition for your hard work.

"I don't normally score many goals so to get Goal of the Season is really nice as well. I take any goal really but it's the most goals I've scored in a season which is great.

"It's all about looking forward now and building on my first season here as I think I can do much better and so can the club."
