HEAD TO HEAD: Coventry City have won ten times against Chesterfield in the all time head to head record

13 March 2015

The Sky Blues have the edge in the 23 meetings between the two sides and haven't lost to the Spireites since 1960…

Coventry City take on Chesterfield in a SkyBet League One match at the Proact Stadium tomorrow and the record reads in the Sky Blues' favour.

City have won ten times against the Spireites whilst the Derbyshire side have been victorious in eight, with only five draws.

It is very much a historic clash as before December, the last time the two sides met was all the way back in 1961, which resulted in a 3-1 win for City at Highfield Road.

There have been only fifteen games between the two sides post World War Two and the first ever meeting was 89 years ago, in 1926.

That scoreline was 4-3 to Chesterfield at Saltergate and the following game the next month was a 4-2 win, again for Chesterfield.

City have only lost one of their last five away games against Chesterfield and will be looking to extend that good record in a tough away test tomorrow.
