HEAD TO HEAD: Coventry City have won eight times against Port Vale ahead of their SkyBet League One clash at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow

Sky Blues are unbeaten in the last two against the Vale but have the inferior record going into Tony Mowray's first game in charge…

Coventry City take on Port Vale in SkyBet League One and the head to record between the two is mightily close.

City have won eight times out of the 27 games played between the two. Vale have won ten times, the last of which coming in September 2013.

Nine draws have been played out, the last of which coming last March at Sixfields when the Sky Blues came from two goals down to score a last minute equaliser as the game finished 2-2.

Before 2013 the last time the two teams played each other was all the way back in 1964, in the old Division Three.

The first meeting was 95 years ago in 1920, when the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at Highfield Road. The record City victory is 4-1, achieved just a year later in 1921.

With both sides scoring in a game only five times in the last nine and three draws in the last five games, it promises to be a tight game at the Ricoh tomorrow.

With the away side winning only one of the last five games let's hope City make it four games unbeaten at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow.
