City manager Tony Mowbray hopes to see Tudgay push for a starting spot with the Sky Blues next season...

Coventry City striker Marcus Tudgay has agreed a new one-year deal with the Sky Blues.

The 32-year old is set to sign a new one-year deal for the 2015/16 season, which will begin on Wednesday, July 1st, following a strong end to the 2014/15 campaign under manager Tony Mowbray.

Tudgay made 23 appearances last season, scoring four goals, with two coming in the last four games in the wins over Chesterfield and Crawley Town.

City boss Tony Mowbray was delighted to see the former Derby County forward agree to sign on with the Sky Blues for another year.

Mowbray said: "I'm delighted to see Marcus Tudgay stay at the club for another season.

"Marcus was a player I highlighted at the back end of last season as someone who gives us some much-needed experience but also an intelligence and an awareness on the ball.

"He is a player who has a presence in the dressing room and I've really enjoyed working with him since my arrival at the club in February.

"I'm hoping after a good pre-season, Marcus can claim a starting spot with his performances and help us challenge at the top end of the League One table."
