PRESS WATCH: "There’s lots of holes in the team but one by one we’ll drop some players in." - Coventry City's Tony Mowbray

The City boss hopes to start filling in the blank spaces in his team soon ahead of the 2015/16 League One season...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted he is taking his time over transfers to the Coventry Telegraph.

The Sky Blues squad return to Ryton training ground on Wednesday, July 1st with City yet to make their first move in the transfer window.

Mowbray's side will start the 2015/16 League One season at the Ricoh Arena against Wigan Athletic on Saturday, August 8th.

The City boss said: “I’m just trying to build it up bit by bit and then trying to almost draw up a wish list on the board and see if we can get him and him.

“Could we add someone in that spot and maybe get a loan to fill another spot – just trying to build a team. At the moment there’s lots of holes in the team but one by one we’ll try to drop some players in and hopefully we’ll be happy with the team by the time we’re ready to go.

“Of course you can’t just go for 11, you’ve got to go for 20 and be able to trust them all. And then you want some young ones around the periphery of that and then you are off and running with your squad.”
