LONG TRIPS: Coventry City get lucky with the five longest away journeys all set to be played on Saturday!

17 June 2015

We've picked out the five longest away trips of the season for the Sky Blue Army to start planning their dates for next season...

Coventry City have seemingly got lucky with the 2015/16 League One fixture schedule which was released this morning.

The Sky Blues are set to play their five longest away trips of the 2015/16 season on Saturday, rather than any long midweek trip.

City faced a long midweek trip to Fleetwood Town last season, a 296-mile round journey, but this season the Sky Blues travel to Highbury on Saturday, October 10th.

Colchester United will welcome the Sky Blues, a fixture which saw City record a 1-0 win last season, on Saturday, November 14th, a round trip of 294 miles.

The third longest round trip of the season, and one which we suspect many City fans will already be looking forward to, is to Blackpool.

The Sky Blues travel to Bloomfield Road to face the relegated Tangerines on Saturday, March 12th, a round trip of 290 miles. However, this fixture could change if either progress in the FA Cup.

The fourth longest trip of the season is to Priestfield to face Gillingham on Saturday, April 2nd, a 274-mile round trip.

And finally, the fifth longest trip of the season, with just 258 miles to cover, is to newly-promoted side Southend United on Saturday, January 23rd.

*All fixtures subject to change.
