PRESS WATCH: “It’s trying to get the right ones because there are literally dozens and dozens." - Tony Mowbray

The City boss will cast his eye over the entire squad tomorrow at Ryton training ground...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed the Sky Blues will play a behind-closed-doors match at Ryton tomorrow.

The Sky Blues have had a hard week of training at the club base with double sessions as City prepare for the 2015/16 season.

The squad will play an 11 v 11 90 minute match with trialist Ruben Lameiras set to play having trained with City this week.

City boss Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph: "We could have arranged another match but we declined it because we wanted to control all the players’ minutes on the pitch.

"While it’s still pre-season, you still want to give a good account of yourselves and at this moment we’re still very short in the attacking and goal scoring part of the team.

“It’s trying to get the right ones because there are literally dozens and dozens being thrown at us from agents and we’re trying to make sure we get the right one while also waiting for some loans to come along to help as well."
