PRESS WATCH: "It's a tough start but there isn't any easy games next season." - Coventry City's Jim O'Brien

The City captain wants to see the Sky Blues start the season on a positive against Wigan Athletic at the Ricoh Arena..

Coventry City captain Jim O'Brien doesn't think there will be any 'easy games' ahead of the 2015/16 League One season.

The Sky Blues midfielder made 48 appearances last season, scoring six goals after moving to the club in June 2014.

City opens their League One campaign against two newly-relegated sides as Wigan Athletic visit the Ricoh Arena before City make the trip to Millwall.

Speaking to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, the 2014/15 Player of the Season admits it is a tough start to the season.

O'Brien said: "It’s a tough start but I don’t think there are going to be any easy games next season.

“Even the teams that have come up are going to be experienced. They’ll know how to see games out and they’ll know how to rough you up a little bit and we’ve got to stand up to that.

“We’ll prepare for each game as it comes. You can’t plan too far ahead because if you do that then you’re fighting a losing battle from the start.”
