Peter Shilton is getting involved with Coventry City once again.
Only, it’s not England’s most capped player in history or the legendary goalkeeper who has agreed to a brand new player sponsorship deal with the club.
It’s local business owner Peter Shilton, who has opted to sponsor new signing Sam Ricketts for the season!
Peter, a lifelong Sky Blue fan, is the owner of the Broadwell Guest House in Meriden and has made the decision to sponsor Ricketts for the 2015/16 campaign. He runs the guest house with his wife, Justine, who is as equally as fanatic about the Sky Blues!
The guest house, which has nine picturesque bedrooms, is rated as a 5 star location on Trip Advisor.
And Peter, who took over the business 18 months ago alongside Justine, was delighted to sponsor Ricketts and believes the Sky Blues can have a good season with the likes of the Welsh international in the side.
“My whole family are Coventry City fans,” Peter said.
“I’ve even just had my car painted Sky Blue for City! We were delighted to get involved with the club and to sponsor Sam.
“He’s a quality player and just what we need. He’s a real leader and we’re delighted to be involved with him. We’re hoping for a good season and with players like Ricketts in the side, hopefully it will see us challenge near the top of the table this time around!”
Corporate sales manager Tynan Scope added: “While it’s not the England legend we’re delighted to be working with Peter!
“We’re encouraging local businesses to get involved with the club and we’re really pleased that Peter has decided to sponsor Sam.
