HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Sky Blues have faced Oxford seven times in history, with all of those clashes coming in a six-year period.

The first of the matches came in 1982, when City won 4-0 in an FA Cup tie.

The first league match between the pair came in 1985, with the last meeting coming in 1988, a 1-0 win for the Sky Blues which saw Cyrille Regis net the only goal.

The teams did play in a pre-season friendly in 2013, with Oxford coming out 1-0 winners.

PLAYED FOR BOTH

Andrew Whing

The last ever goalscorer for Coventry City at Highfield Road, Whing started his career with the Sky Blues and played for the club between 2003-07. That goal at Highfield Road in the 6-2 win over Derby is probably the highlight of his City career as he made 119 appearances.
After spells with Brighton, Leyton Orient and Chesterfield, he signed for Oxford in 2011. He made 23 appearances for them last season.

Josh Ruffels

Current Oxford midfielder Josh Ruffels is expected to play against his former club at Liberty Way.
The midfielder made his professional debut for Coventry City as a substitute in August 2011, a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace. He only made two appearances for the club before moving to United in 2013.
