Sky Blues boss reveals that a loan deal for the Bolton Wanderers winger is 'close' and hopes for it to be completed before the Rochdale game…

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley revealed that a loan deal for Bolton Wanderers winger Sanmi Odelusi is close and that he hopes to get it finalised before tomorrow's League One game against Rochdale.

The 21-year old trained with the first-team yesterday and caught the eye of the City boss, who feels that his pace and flexibility in positioning could be an asset to the Sky Blues.

"We hope to tie up a deal with Sanmi soon," he said.

"Ideally before the game tomorrow.

"It's just a case of finalising some things, I believe he could be a real asset to the team.

"Sanmi brings energy and speed, he's got an eye for goal and can play in a number of attacking positions. He is also aggressive with his headed play.

"That flexibility is good, he started off as a striker in his younger days before moving out on the wing. If you look at some of the footballers in Germany a number of their wingers start off as strikers as well.

"This means they are more likely to come inside and score goals, which sometimes isn't in the make up of out-and-out wingers. I hope Sanmi can bring this speed in our counter attack, which hasn't been as fast as I would have liked at the moment."
