Coventry City face Rochdale on Saturday at the Ricoh Arena, where they meet for just the eighth time in 90 years.

The two sides first met on the 19th December 1925 in the old English Division Three (North). The game ended in a 2-2 draw at Highfield Road and since this fixture the two sides have only met six times.

Four out of the seven meetings between the two clubs have come in cup competitions, with Rochdale winning on two occasions in the FA Cup and once in the League Cup.

The Sky Blues have however recorded the biggest victory of this fixture and it came on the 25th September 1991 in the League Cup second round, where Robert Rosario grabbed a brace in a 4-0 win.

The last time the two teams met was at Spotland back in September, which resulted in a narrow defeat for the Sky Blues. Ian Henderson converted from the spot in the 29th minute for the Dale, winning them the game 1-0.

Rochdale have won their last three consecutive matches in the Sky Bet League One, where they currently sit 6th in the table. They were also in FA Cup action on Monday night against Premier League opposition Stoke City, where they lost 4-1 at Spotland.
