Coventry City are set to sign Preston North End goalkeeper Jamie Jones on an emergency loan deal.

The Sky Blues have snapped up the former Leyton Orient man on an initial 31-day emergency loan, which can be extended up to a period of 93-days.

The 25-year old came through the Everton Academy and signed for League One side Leyton Orient in 2008, and went on to make 179 appearances for the O's during a six-year spell.

The Kirkby-born goalkeeper signed for the Lilywhites in June 2014 and has made 20 appearances for PNE this season.

City boss Steven Pressley said: "We're delighted to be able to bring Jamie into the club.

"Jamie has obtained some fantastic League One experience and was widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers at this level last season during Leyton Orient's impressive year."
