BETTING PREVIEW: Coventry City are 11/8 favourites to beat Rochdale in their SkyBet League One clash tomorrow

31 January 2015

The Sky Blues are slight favourites to beat the Dale and avenge their 1-0 defeat at Spotland earlier on in the season...

Coventry City take on Rochdale at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow and if you fancy a flutter on the action then SkyBet has all the odds covered.

The Sky Blues are 11/8 favourites, with the Dale priced at 19/10. The draw is priced at 11/5, with the odds indicating that there is not much between the two sides.

The visitors will be looking to avenge their 4-1 defeat against Stoke in the FA Cup Fourth Round on Monday and City will have to be weary against a team pushing for an unlikely play-off place. If you think it will be back-to-back 4-1 defeats for them, you can back the Sky Blues at a massive 50/1.

Coventry have only failed to score at the Ricoh against opponents who were in a top six place at the time, so it could be likely that City will net again. The Sky Blues to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 is 4/1, whilst both teams to score is a lowly 4/6.

In the first goalscorers market the two top scorers for the Dale are the two favourites. Ian Henderson and Matty Done are 5/1 to break the deadlock first, with Calvin Andrew and Peter Vincenti 6/1 respectively.

For the Sky Blues Gary Madine is the 6/1 favourite. Frank Nouble is just behind him at 13/2, with the duo of Marcus Tudgay and Simeon Jackson at 7/1.

Looking at other positions on the park, Reda Johnson is a sizeable 14/1, Adam Barton is 20/1 and Aaron Martin, who is always a threat from set-pieces, is available at 22/1.

Remember if you back a first goalscorer and he does not play any part in the match, you will get your stake refunded.

It promises to be an intriguing encounter at the Ricoh Arena with the game meaning a lot to both sides. I am predicting a hard-fought City win and whilst it may be a boring hot tip, the price is too good to ignore.

In a new feature, our resident Sky Blues Tipster will be placing a £10 bet on his Hot-tip, as well as £10 to place on his longshot. We will be tracking his profits (or losses!) over the course of the season so you can see where you would be if you followed his tips!

So close yet so far again for the Tipster last week, with the right result but wrong score for his hot tip and only one team letting him down for his accumulator! Can he go one better tomorrow?
