The City midfielder has also stated the first-team must do more to close out games after the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United...
Coventry City midfielder Jack Finch has expressed his disappointment after the 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The Sky Blues were unlucky to lose at Forest as Finch's second-half strike wasn't enough to claim a point.
Finch, who came on during the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United, has praised George Thomas for his part in the goal and believes City should have won.
The 19-year old said: "I was delighted to get on the scoresheet. Credit to the lads and George for the cross, and I was really happy with the finish.
"I thought we deserved more out of the game to be honest. We failed to take our chances in the first-half and we've got to make sure we're doing that.
"We've played really well in the second-half and we should have scored a few chances. It's not great coming away from that with nothing.
"The team is definitely playing better at the moment and we need to keep this up as there are plenty of Under-21s games coming up."
Finch has made 20 appearances for the Sky Blues this season and he hopes to add to that following his impressive performances in the Under-21s.
He added: "I came on at the weekend and I was disappointed to lose the two goals the way we did. We have to do better and close out games.
"We've got to look at ourselves and make sure we're always giving our best. It is another game we should have won so it is really frustrating.
"Obviously, every player wants to start and hopefully today's performance has helped me claim a starting place in the first-team."
