A group of young footballers from a range of backgrounds and communities have thanked the Sky Blues for a great day out.

FC Eagles, which is run by manager Pawel Kasprzyk alongside his wife and club secretary Joanna, booked a group package with Coventry City to watch the home game against Rochdale.

And, as well as being to treated to an exciting 2-2 draw in which Dominic Samuel and Sanmi Odelusi scored on their debuts, the youngsters aged between seven and 12 got to parade around the pitch and perform a guard of honour for the players.

Pawel, who was a semi-professional footballer in Poland before moving to Coventry, said it was fantastic experience.

He said: “It was a great day and we would like to thank Coventry City. The children, who are from different backgrounds and speak different languages, are very happy and have asked when they can go back again!

“For a lot of the children, it was their first time at a football match and doing the guard of honour was a real highlight for everyone.”

The Sky Blues offer group packages which allow discounted tickets to be purchased, with the reductions depending on the overall size of the group.

On top of the discounted tickets, the group also receives a series of other benefits to make the day even more memorable.

Nathaniel Prescod, of Coventry City, said: “We are delighted that FC Eagles had such a good time with us.

“Our group packages are popular for junior football teams and other groups to join together and benefit from discounted tickets as well as enjoying a range of other experiences including parading around the pitch, a mention on the scoreboard, performing the guard of honour and acting as the mini announcers for the Sky Blues starting team.

“We would encourage more groups to contact us to make the most of this opportunity.”
