The Sky Blues' latest signing hopes to help score the goals to fire City clear of danger in SkyBet League One…

Coventry City striker Nick Proschwitz expressed his delight at signing for the Sky Blues and wants to hit the ground running and be part of the team straight away.

The German striker has an accomplished record in Europe, becoming the divisions top scorer for Swiss side Vaduz and then German second division team SC Paderborn.

After spells at Hull and Barnsley, the six foot four forward joins on loan from Brentford until the end of the season and says he is delighted to join the Sky Blues.

"I'm very happy to be here," he said. "Coventry are a big club, and the management have been very positive, they've said they wanted me and now I'm here.

"It's a difficult situation in the league at the moment but I hope to add some quality. I want to score the goals and get the team back to winning ways.

"I am a goalscorer, my record has been good so far. I hope to continue that here at Coventry."

Proschwitz has scored on his debut at every English club he has been at so far and that record is something the German wants to extend when he gets his opportunity.

He continued: "It's up to the management whether or not I play Saturday. But MK Dons is a big game and it is one we have a good chance of winning.

"It will be a difficult game but they have to come here and try to figure us out, we have to make it hard for them.

"Match time is something I'm looking to get. I feel the more I get of it the better I will play. Hopefully I can hit the ground running and keep my record going!"
