The Sky Blues is delighted with the amount of options he has in the forward areas ahead of the Oldham game this weekend...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted he might have too many options ahead of the Oldham Athletic game.

The Sky Blues have recently welcomed back Joe Cole to the side and James Maddison is set to be in contention this weekend having played a full 90 minutes for the Under-21s this week.

George Thomas has also returned from his loan spell at Yeovil Town with manager Mowbray set to have a selection headache ahead of the Latics tie.

Sam Ricketts will be suspended for the game which could see Aaron Phillips come in as the City boss admits he hasn't picked a captain for the weekend yet.

Mowbray said: "Aaron trained today and he'll be assessed. We'll see how he comes through tomorrow's training and if there is any reaction to it.

"He looks good in training so if he is alright that is obviously one option available to us. I haven't thought about the captain yet and it's not so important as this group are pretty tight together.

"Everyone is chomping at the bit to be involved and if anything, we've probably got too many players available so it's all about picking the right mix of players to win the game.

"We base the selection around the opposition and it's really good for us as a club to be able to have so many good options available."
