City legend Steve Ogrizovic has praised Steve Phelps' new book which documents City's 1987 FA Cup win...

Coventry City goalkeeping coach and legend Steve Ogrizovic helped launch Steve Phelps' new book Sky Blue Heroes: The Inside Story of Coventry City's 1987 FA Cup win.

Ogrizovic was joined by other 1987 FA Cup heroes Dave Bennett, Cyrille Regis and Mickey Gynn to help launch the book in Waterstones Coventry this week.

The book features the cast of '87 and their recollections of the day, including some untold stories about the FA Cup run and day as City capped their greatest achievement.

Ogrizovic said: "Steve has done a terrific job recreating the entire 1987 FA Cup experience and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

"We all know it was the club's finest hour and to read all the different perspectives from the day gives a really interesting insight into the emotion of a FA Cup win.

"I also really enjoyed being a part of it and sharing my thoughts and memories with Steve and I must congratulate him on a fantastic book."

Featuring 62 exclusive interviews with players, management, media, mascots, songwriters, club staff and supporters, documenting a magical time in Coventry City's history.

Contemporary media reports appear alongside memories and retrospectives and the first interview for 28 years with the 'mystery man' who appeared on the Wembley pitch photograph with the jubilant players, as well as a contribution and foreword from John Motson.

You can purchase the book from Waterstones Coventry, who have a limited number of signed copies in their town centre store, and purchase via Amazon with free delivery here...

The book cost ranges from £13 to £16 and has received the support of the players who all contributed with their own personal memories of the era.
