HEAD TO HEAD: Coventry City lead the way against Oldham Athletic with 10 Latics past victories

18 December 2015

The Sky Blues have drawn five of the eight meetings against the Latics as we look into the head-to-head record...

Coventry City take on Oldham Athletic in a SkyBet League One clash tonight, and the Sky Blues will be buoyed by their excellent head to head record against the Latics.

City have won ten of the 23 meetings, with Oldham winning six. There have been seven draws overall, with five of those coming in the last eight meetings.

The Sky Blues' record win against the Latics came in 1924, when City won 5-1. Oldhams record win came in the same season, with a 5-0 scoreline in 1925.

The two teams were founding members of the inaugural Premier League in 1992 and City did the double over Oldham in that season, the first of two occasions that this has happened.

The Sky Blues won 1-0 at Boundary Park, Kevin Gallacher netting the only goal. City won 3-0 in the reverse fixture at Highfield Road, Gallacher scoring twice again, either side of a Peter Ndlovu strike. The Latics have never done the double over City.

Last time out, the Sky Blues netted a late goal at the Ricoh Arena to snatch an important point against the Latics as Reda Johnson's header secured a 1-1 draw.
