Coventry City have issued a statement reminding supporters to never enter the field of play following events during the 1-1 draw against Chesterfield.
A club spokesman said: "The club would like to strongly remind all supporters to stay off the field of play following the events at Chesterfield yesterday.
"Whilst we understand the excitement around the goal and the celebrations after, fans must stay off the pitch at all times to not endanger any players on the field of play.
"A small minority of our supporters entered the pitch following James Maddison's goal and we ask all supporters to refrain from this sort of behaviour in the future as the club could face action from the FA.
"Also, we'd like to thank the vast majority of our supporters who represented the Sky Blues in excellent fashion at the Proact Stadium yesterday."
