Coventry City midfielder Jacob Murphy is eager to keep showing what he can do after his stunning strike against Walsall.

The Norwich loanee scored his sensational goal after coming on for James Maddison at Walsall after just six minutes.

Murphy would have preferred to make his impact without Maddison getting injured but wants to step up now the midfielder has been ruled out for at least three months.

“I have been biding my time and waiting for my opportunity,” Murphy told the Coventry Telegraph.

“It’s a shame that opportunity came in these circumstances but I had to be ready when called upon. I contributed with a goal and hopefully I can show more in the next game, if selected.

“It’s a shame James got injured so early in the game because he plays an important role on the team and keeps things ticking up the pitch, he's a great player for us.

“We have got a really talented group of young boys in attack who could go really far in the game, and he’s one of them.
