The City manager has praised the squad after the Sky Blues win the Performance of the Week award against Millwall....

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray believes the LG Performance of the Week award can act as a 'confidence booster'.

The Sky Blues were awarded the accolade exactly two years after the club last won it, for the 4-0 win over Millwall.

Adam Armstrong notched a brace, Ruben Lameiras scored his first goal for the club and Jim O'Brien completed the scoring last week at the Den.

City followed up the three points with another win in midweek against Crewe Alexandra which sees Mowbray's men currently top of the League One table.

City boss Tony Mowbray said: "I think there is a lot of confidence in the squad at the moment and that's important.

"It's good for the club though and the group of players that the performances are being nationally recognised and applauded.

"Out of all the fixtures last week, for us to be picked out as the performance of the week is a great accolade for the club and the group.

"Let's hope there are some more on the way."
