ON THIS DAY: Peter Ndlovu nets his two most important goals in a 2-0 win over Wimbledon at Selhurst Park

27 April 2015

Ndlovu netted twice in front of over 7,000 Sky Blues fans to help keep them in the Premier League...

On this day back in 1996, Coventry City went a long way to securing Premier League survival with a memorable 2-0 win over Wimbledon at Selhurst Park.

Over 7,000 fans made the trip to see Peter Ndlovu score two of his most important City goals which contributed massively to helping keep the Sky Blues in the Premier League on goal difference.

A magical day in the club's recent history saw Ndlovu ease the tension as he met Ally Pickering's cross from the right and diverted it into the top right corner.

That goal, six minutes after the break, provoked Sky Blues fans to run onto the pitch in sheer delirium. But the emotions were to run even higher when Ndlovu netted his second with a minute to go to secure only City's second away win of that campaign.
