The Sky Blues manager also says that Reda Johnson may not go straight into the first team when he is ready for selection after long lay-off…

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray says that John Fleck 'will be given every chance' to recover from his knee injury ahead of Saturday's League One game against Colchester at the Ricoh Arena.

Fleck missed Easter Monday's 0-0 draw against Notts County and looks to have a race against time to be fit for Saturday's crucial fixture against the U's.

Mowbray hoped for his quick return and also revealed that Reda Johnson may not return to the starting XI immediately after his return from a thigh injury.

"John Fleck strained his knee in training on the Saturday," he said. "it was always going to rule him out of the Monday game.

"It was just one of those things, he went into a challenge with another player and it went.

"We will give him every chance to be available for Saturday but we will have to wait and see. He is an important player for us and has been in the midfield all season.

"That is the only new update when it comes to injuries. Reda's return is imminent, but he might not come straight into the side.

"He may well want to start straight away but we have picked up another clean sheet on Monday and I feel that it would be very harsh to drop one of those players after that."
