Sky Blue Under-18s coach looks to replicate the 6-0 result against Bristol City last time out by producing another eye catching performance at the weekend...
Coventry City Under-18's coach Jason Farndon is confident his side can continue their unbeaten start to the season by beating a strong Brentford side at the Alan Higgs centre this weekend. The young Sky Blues are unbeaten so far, with three wins and a draw. Their displays have pleased Farndon, who hopes that the run will continue in what will be a testing 90 minutes.
"Our Under 21's played Brentford last Monday, and it was a tough game," he said, "but after a few knocks they grew into the game and played well against a side full of professionals.
"It will be our toughest test so far on Saturday, but I know the group will give it everything. We have looked at our weak points in training, and hopefully we can match our performance Saturday."
The young Sky Blues beat Bristol City 6-0 last weekend, sending the side top of the table. Farndon believes it was a fantastic performance that can lead the group to better things.
He continued: "There's a real idea of the way we want to play at the moment. One of our goals involved 20 passes, it was fantastic.
"We never let up, we pressurised them the whole time, and it wouldn't have mattered who we played that day, we would have beaten anyone.
"There's a real team ethic, a work rate between the group that will lead to results. We hope it will also lead to some of the lads getting a chance in the first team, that's the main challenge for me, getting them ready."
