Coventry City looking for four wins in a row against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park on Tuesday

16 September 2014

The Sky Blues will be buoyed by their recent record against the Iron, winning their last two away meetings....

Coventry City have the chance to go eight games unbeaten on Tuesday when they take on Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.

After Saturday's 2-1 win over Yeovil, Steven Pressley's side have won their last three games in all competitions, and have not lost since the opening day of the season.

In contrast the Iron will start the game in the relegation zone, with their minus 12 goal difference being the worst in the Football League. However they can take comfort from their home form, having won their last two home games as hosts.

The head to head records are very even, the Sky Blues just edging it with five wins compared to Scunthorpe's four. There have been three draws over the years, with this fixture never producing a 0-0 scoreline.

The 2012/13 season was the last time the two teams met. At the Ricoh Arena City lost 2-1, ex-Sky Blue Leon Clarke scoring twice to turn around a Carl Baker opener.

In the corresponding fixture City reversed the scoreline. An Akpo Sodje opener was cancelled out by Baker on the stroke of half time.

With 13 minutes to go Clarke scored the winner for the Sky Blues against the team he started the season with to give Steven Pressley a winning start in his first game in charge.
