Discover who has played for both the Sky Blues and the Glovers ahead of their League One clash at the Ricoh Arena this weekend
Coventry City meet Yeovil Town on Saturday for just the third time ever, as the Sky Blues look to build upon last Friday’s win against Gillingham with another win back at the Ricoh Arena.Gary Johnson's Glovers will be tough opposition, having only lost one of their last five games, and also feature an ex-Sky Blue in their squad. Here we highlight four players to have worn both jerseys over the years…
Dan Seaborne
A direct transfer between the two clubs, City signed the central defender on loan to begin with last November. However after impressing in five appearances, the move was made permanent in January.
He featured in a further 16 games, scoring once, a towering header at home against Stevenage which secured all three points.
Seaborne started his career at Exeter City, before moving to fellow South Coast team Southampton in 2010. He has also had spells on loan at Charlton and Bournemouth. He now plays for SPFL side Partick Thistle.
Aaron Martin
Martin could potentially feature this afternoon for the Glovers, impressing last Saturday where he scored two goals in a 3-1 win over Bradford City, and was named Man of the Match.
The centre back started his career at Southampton, however he struggled to break into the first team, and had spells on loan at Salisbury and Crystal Palace. Last year he joined the Sky Blues for a loan spell, and played 12 games for City.
After a brief spell at Birmingham City, Martin joined the Glovers at the start of the season, and hopes to establish himself in this new look Yeovil side. He has featured in six games so far this season.
Adam Virgo
Another former player with South Coast connections, Virgo is best known for the start of his career, where he spent six years at Brighton from 2000 to 2005, overseeing the clubs rise from League Two to the Championship.
The Scotland 'B' international left to join Celtic, and it was at that time when he signed for City, on a season long loan. He featured 15 times, scoring once, but unfortunately a knee injury cut his loan spell short, and was sent back to Celtic for rehabilitation.
In 2010 he signed for the Glovers, and made 33 appearances in one season, scoring five goals, and impressing. However at the end of the season he joined Bristol Rovers. He is currently unattached.
Martin Cranie
The former Sky Blues defender was born and raised in Yeovil and went on to make 12 appearances for his hometown club over two loan spells from parent club Southampton in 2007.
Cranie stayed on the South Coast with a move to Portsmouth the same year where his first team appearances were limited before he signed for Coventry City in 2009.
The 27-year-old made 114 appearances for the Sky Blues and scored one goal before moving on to current club Barnsley in 2012.
