Sky Blues defender reflects on a disappointing night for City as they suffer defeat at Boundary Park aganst Oldham Athletic…

Coventry City defender Andy Webster says that there are no excuses for the Sky Blues' performance as they lose 4-1 against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park.

Goals from Adam Philliskirk, Jabo Ibehre and a double from Jonathon Forte overshadowed James Maddison's first goal for City.

The Scottish centre-back was up front about the result which sees the Sky Blues continue to search for their first away league win of the season.

"Disappointing is an understatement," he said, "we didn't turn up on the goals. We were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and if you concede sloppy goals like that you will never win football matches.

"We have no excuses to offer. Everyone needs to take responsibility for tonight, it was not good enough. It is frustrating because the fundamentals are there, but they were not applied well tonight.

"Confidence is a big part for the game, and it is hard right now. But we conceded sloppy goals, and it is so disappointing.

"Tonight with our performance we let ourselves down. But more importantly we also let the fans down and the club down."
