HEAD TO HEAD: Coventry City vs Colchester United - Sky Blues hold the edge over the U's in all-time record between the sides

20 November 2014

City have won seven more games than Colchester in the clashes between the two, with one of those wins coming last season...

Coventry City have the edge in their all-time record against Colchester United, with the Sky Blues winning 15 of the 31 clashes between the two sides.

Colchester have won eight times in this fixture, with eight draws also being played out between the pair.

Their first meeting came back in 1953, while the most recent clash resulted in a 2-1 Colchester victory last season, with Callum Wilson netting after goals from Freddie Sears and Gavin Massey at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The Sky Blues' last win against Colchester came in September last year, when a brace from Wilson secured a 2-0 win.

City's biggest ever win against the U's was a 5-1 win in the Championship back in 2008, with goals from Leon Best, Danny Fox, Michael Doyle and two penalties from Elliot Ward securing the win after Scott Vernon had fired the U's into an early lead.
