The City boss has also revealed he would like to prepare another pre-season tour ahead of the 2014/15 season...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has revealed he has already made contact with potential summer targets ahead of the final game of the season against Sheffield United tomorrow.

The City boss will be able to get to work on any potential targets straight away, unlike last summer as the club was placed under a transfer embargo.

The Sky Blues are preparing for their trip to Bramall Lane tomorrow with over 1600 City fans set to travel to Yorkshire looking to see the Sky Blues end the season with a positive result.

Having had to wait until the 2013/14 League One season started to sign players, Pressley is looking forward to strengthening the squad in the summer.

The City boss said: "I think we need to get things moving right away. If we could, I would love to tie up some early deals.

"We are in contact with several agents and we have shown our intent to sign several players. It is a huge plus-point that the club won't be under an embargo this summer.

"For the last two summers, the club has had to operate under those restrictions which has definitely had a negative impact on the squad.

"To get in the best players and get the targets you want, you have to be able to move quickly. We were forced to wait until the season started last summer to bring anyone in and it was difficult for us."

The Sky Blues travelled to Holland last pre-season where they played TSV Wachtendonk, Heracles Almelo and Willem II to prepare for the 2013/14 League One season.

With pre-season set to begin in early July for the City squad, Pressley would like to organise another pre-season tour in preparation for the 2014/15 season.

He added: "I would like to mirror what we did last pre-season as it is obvious by the way we started the season that the games got us prepared in the right way.

"We're speaking to several sides about the possibility of playing them and we'll be hoping to get a few things confirmed in the coming weeks.

"We'll also be looking at playing back-to-back games again. It is important we don't just focus on getting players into the club but prepare the players we've got here for what will be another tough season."
