19 May 2014

Check out #4 of our compiled list of the Sky Blues top ten moments on the pitch throughout the 2013/14 season

We now begin to approach the final straight of our countdown of the Top Ten Sky Blues footballing moments of 2013/14!

When discussing moment, this next pick truly has to be up there for the sheer joy it produced and it's effect on the football club's history books.

In at number number four...

#4 - Aaron Phillips late equaliser at Wolves

The 2013/14 season marked Academy graduate Aaron Phillips' first appearances in the first team. The 20-year-old full back had made three substitute appearances for the Sky Blues during the campaign prior to the trip to Molineux in mid-October.

City were trailing 1-0 to Leigh Griffiths' second half opener for the home side and were approaching the final moments of normal time.

Up stepped Phillips who had only been on the pitch three minutes before he swept home a half volley into the bottom corner off Callum Wilson's cross to send 3,400 members of the Sky Blue Army into delerium and ensure a point against the Midlands rivals.

The goal also put Phillips into the club's record books alongside dad and 1987 FA Cup winner Dave Phillips as only the third father-son pairing to have ever both scored for City.
