October was a monumental month for the Sky Blues as they went the whole way through the month undefeated, picking up four wins from five league games to hand Steven Pressley the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award.

City kicked off the month with a 1-0 win at Stevenage thanks to a strike from Leon Clarke and although the win was followed by a penalty defeat at Leyton Orient following a goalless 120 minutes at the Matchroom Stadium, there was no hangover from an early exit in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy as the Sky Blues went on to beat Sheffield United 3-2 at Sixfields in front of the Sky cameras.

A double from Clarke and another strike from Callum Wilson saw off a late rally from the Blades.

The momentum carried through to a trip to Molineux to face eventual League One champions Wolves where City brought back a point thanks to substitute Aaron Phillips' first senior goal of the season four minutes from time.

The biggest result of the month though was undoubtedly the 3-1 home win over Leyton Orient as City became the first team to beat a previously unbeaten, table-topping Orient.

Carl Baker, Franck Moussa and Clarke all got on the scoresheet but the pick of the bunch was Moussa's audacious 18-yard chip over  Jamie Jones which went on to win the Football League 2013 Goal of the Year.

The Sky Blues then topped off a hugely profitable month in terms of points with a 1-0 Midlands derby win at Walsall, Moussa getting the goal to put the Sky Blues in the top half of the League One table for the first time.
