Coventry City headed into the final few weeks of the 2013/14 campaign trying to avoid getting sucked into a late-season relegation scrap.

A point in a goalles draw with Bradford at Sixfields to kick off April went towards easing those worries although they soon returned with consecutive defeats at home to MK Dons and Swindon and away to eventual play-off contenders Peterborough United.

A point in a 0-0 away stalemate at Oldham very nearly pushed City over the line in terms of survival but it was the 1-1 draw at home to Wolves in their last home fixture of the season that made the Sky Blues' League One status a mathematical certainty.

David Edwards gave the now confirmed League One champions the lead with six minutes to go only for Nathan Delfouneso to grab a leveller just two minutes later to ensure that Coventry City were the only team not beaten by Wolves at any point in the season.

With league safety assured, Steven Pressley took his side to see out their campaign at Bramall Lane where Delfouneso again got on the scoresheet.

The goal was not enough though as second half strikes from Ryan Flynn and Ben Davies enabled the Blades finished out the season with a win at the expense of the Sky Blues.
