Sky Blues honour five club employees for long outstanding service to the club in memory of Michelle Ridley

Coventry City Football Club listed five recipients of the Michelle Ridley Award on Sunday night in recognition of their long service to the Sky Blues.

The award, first presented at the 2012/13 End Of Season awards, was created in memory of late club receptionist Michelle Ridley, who passed away suddenly in December 2012, aged 47, to recognise outstanding service to Coventry City Football Club.

Michelle, a lifetime Sky Blues supporter, dedicated more than 25 years of service to the club and to honour her dedication the award was set up in tribute to her.

Karen Bennett, Lorraine Mulvey, Andy Harvey, Pam Hindson and Lyn McCauley were all recognised for between 20 and 25 years of service to the club at the End Of Season Awards evening at the Village Urban Resort, Coventry, on Sunday night.

The award has also been sponsored for its lifetime by TR Autos whose Managing Director Roger Smith, himself a lifelong City supporter, was a close personal friend of Michelle and her family since he was 16 years old.

He said: "We've done it for what Michelle did for Coventry City. She was a true definition of an unsung hero.

"She did so much for the club and supporters that people do not realise so for us to sponsor the award every year is a way of trying to repay that.

"I look forward to presenting this award every year in honour of Michelle's memory."
